Is there a reason why I cant sleep without a quilt covering my head?

Well this was a habit when I was very young. It started when I was 3, I just had a feeling that something was coming at me every time, and if I try to sleep without the quilt over my head, I just feel the coldness and I just pull the quilt up back straight away. I don't know how this started but I also have to cover my ears because i think that a fly would go into my ear and eat my eardrum as someone told me quite a while ago, and ever since that person told me, I never trusted flies at night time. Does anyone know why I do this? Oh yeah and also I'm scared to go to the bathroom in between the night so i hold my wee until morning or if someone else has woken up... Thanks :)
